I’m in the Falklands at the moment for a 10 day visit and brought my watercolours with me to fill in the early mornings and evenings. the time difference from the UK means I’m waking at 4am so I take the opportunity to paint. During my stay I’ve repainted, in watercolour, portraits of Andy, Darcy and Sarah.
I’m delighted with the way they’ve turned out as I tried a slightly different technique to achieve the glowing skin tones. Simple really, I should have thought of it before. Using a dry rag after the paint has dried I rub the area to remove some paint, even out edges and give a slight glow.
I’ll add photos to the gallery when I get home.
