This is Sophie riding Ted from photographs I took during the Side Saddle Show at Addington Manor in August 2015. I’ve placed them on a woodland path based roughly on a Sir Alfred Munnings painting, “Marjory”.

I’ve been looser with the background and sprayed turps onto the wet paint to get some wonderful shapes and patterns which I think has worked well. The painting of Sophie and Ted is in my usual tight technique but getting looser as you move away from the heads, this then portrays the world as we see it.
