Each painting is a unique artistic legacy born from a collaboration between artist and client.

Equine and Portraiture

I work from reference photographs from which the finished painting is based. Often three or more photographs are combined to achieve the desired result. In the first instance we will arrange a sitting at your convenience and I am happy to travel to any location within the UK to do this. The sitting will take an hour or two where I will take numerous digital photographs and have an in-depth chat about what you require and what I can offer you to achieve that perfect portrait. I then produce a number of watercolour sketches for you to choose the final composition. At that point, I ask for 50% of the agreed price.

I then retire to my studio to complete the painting. I take staged photographs of the painting so that you can be kept up to date with it’s progress. A second sitting is required towards the end of the painting process to ensure I have captured the personality perfectly. Depending upon size and complexity the painting will take up to two months to complete.

If you are happy for me to arrange the framing, I will organise delivery to you and ask for the balance of the price. If you would like to arrange your own framing, I can deliver the finished painting to your framer.
